Meaning of the word "Cognitive automation" in the context of production system

In my understanding:

Cognitive automation refers to systems or tools that help workers make better decisions by providing the right information at the right time.

Unlike physical automation, which involves machines or robots performing tasks, cognitive automation focuses on information and control to support human operators.

The purpose of "Cognitive automation" is help workers to perform tasks correctly and efficiently. Ensures high-quality production by guiding operators.

This is how it works: "Cognitive automation" provides instructions, warnings, or guidance using tools like screens, lights, or mobile devices.

For example, a tablet might display step-by-step instructions for assembling a product or alert the operator about a potential issue.

Real-life example:

Digital instructions: Tablet or screens that show assembly steps.

Physical automation replaces human effort like by robots.

Cognitive automation enhances human thinking and decision-making.

Why "Cognitive automation" is important in the context of production system.

Cognitive automation ensures that human operator can work more accurately and efficiently by reducing errors and improving decision-making during production. It bridges the gap between humans and technology, particularly in complex manufacturing environments.
