Argumentative text

Hej, vi ska skriva en argumenterande text/brev imorgon på engelskan (alltså som ett prov). Nu har jag försökt skriva en idag, min fråga är om någon är så snäll och kan kunna kolla på den och berätta om detta fungerar som en argumenterande text/brev? (Nu behöver ni inte lägga märke till att det inte finns nå datum, avslutning osv, detta är bara ett "test försök") Om ni ser nå grammatik fel så kan ni också berätta är ni snäll!

Själva uppgiften är att på 60 minuter skriva en argumenterande text/brev till USA´s regering där man lyfter fram sina samt andras åsikt om ett politisk ämne, själv valde jag "dödsstraff", alltså jag skriver om dödsstraff.

 

Här är själva texten:

Dear President 

My name is Martin and I am writing to you because I want to show what a fifteen-year-old boy thinks about the death penalty in the US. 

The death penalty's goal is to decrease the numbers of heinous crimes in the world, as you now. However, statistics shows that it does not have as many positive effects as expected. As an example, among the 25 states of the US with the highest crime rates, 20 of them have capital punishment. If capital punishment was an effective method for preventing and decreasing crime, statistics would demonstrate that states with it, would have lower crime rates. Instead, statistics illustrate that this is not true. 

Now here´s what i think. I don´t care what the statistics say, death penalty is a way to provide justice for victim´s and that´s how it should be. People need to pay consequences, if I drive in to a car and its my fault, then i am supposed to pay for the repair, and thats a consequence of what I did. So in this case, if someone takes another person´s life, they should face the consequences as I did, but as said in this case you need to "pay" with your own life.
